Cold Storage

Postby jvr » Mon May 08, 2017 1:22 pm

Based on what I've read, it seems that Rippex is the closest thing to an "official" Ripple cold storage solution. I have some experience compiling code on Linux, but when I download the Linux version of Rippex here (https://rippex.net/carteira-ripple.php) the RippleAdminConsole doesn't produce an account creation page, rather I get a "permission denied" error. Are there any instructions for creating an XRP wallet offline? I realize this may be a fairly simple Linux issue, but generally when I download a pre-compiled "package" it usually runs out of the box. Any advice is appreciated.

Also, any other recommended cold storage solutions? Basically I'm looking for the most secure place to store XRP long-term.

You can safely create as many hot or cold wallets with generateSecretOnline via the XAGATE site too. Read my cold storage post on XRPchat if you are so inclined, I included screenshots and everything over there.

Don't worry! I'm pretty sure that I got this under control, the last crazy visionary was was far too insane, but I struck the correct balance.
